Three Adventurers

Welcome to the club- our newest little Adventurer, Lucas!  We have three little Adventurers in our home now, so to make it official, Serena took Lucas, Alex, & Aidan to the Adventurer campout up at Au Sable.  Lucas felt so special to be able to wear his uniform, and though he doesn’t have his sash or scarf yet, I let him wear an Eager Beaver one that we still had here so he would feel well-decorated. (though he does love to play with it!)  It’s also Alexander’s last year before he moves up to Pathfinders, so it will be a special year for our little crew.  Serena will be Lukie’s Eager Beaver teacher this year.  Though she is a little disappointed to not be able to follow her first class (with Aidan) all the way through, it worked out to help the club with various teacher and kid transitions, and we’re looking forward to a fun year with familiar friends and new ones too.9-11-2016-adventurer-campout-24

The campout weekend was really nice.  We camped in a tent, which we haven’t done in a few years, but it was just a small group from A2 and even though it rained for much of Sabbath, we enjoyed singing in the tent with Alex’s guitar, and a trek to the nature center dodging raindrops, and getting a bit of an after-hours visit.  We always enjoy pastor Craig’s stories and lessons on friendship and growing in Jesus.  Saturday night, Aidan preferred his tent-time with Muma, warming up and drying off with his favorite books, while Lucas and Alex joined the rest of the crew for a sprinkled hay-ride and Camp Kettle Corn.  (Lucas is our little popcorn bandit, you know!)

Sunday brought the traditional field games and gala.  All three boys hopped right in with the events.  Aidan got a little discouraged after losing a race to a friend, but to wrap it up The Adventurers won all of their tug of war games, and that brought back some big smiles all around.  I think our favorite part of the weekend was hanging out with good friends, and positive, glowing, spiritual influences.  It’s wonderful to have such a tender little flock to surround these lambs of God, and this Muma is thankful for the partnership with other thoughtful and caring  ‘shepherd’s’ to help raise them in the way of the Lord.  Praise God for our Amazing Adventurer team!
