How time flies. In a whirlwind of spring events, we celebrated a very special milestone for our oldest Winklet. Alexander completed 8th grade and graduated from the A2 school- the same school where Serena attended as a child. It was a beautiful service that tied up the year (and the end of an era) with a beautiful blue and gold bow. The students sang some of their best songs of the year, Friends and Amazing Grace/My chains are Gone. Mr. Kittleson from the conference came to speak, and the three 3th graders, and their homeschool friend all received their diplomas.
A couple of us also worked with the kids and planned a beautiful reception with a gorgeous balloon photo wall, favorite foods of all the graduates, blue and gold tables complete with centerpieces from Camp Au Sable and some very special graduation photos taken by a student parent. We had fun decorating the evening before. Alex and Leah had put together the music playlist, and we had a wonderful turnout of family and friends to celebrate such special graduates and take so many pictures. Maybe the clean-up was just as bittersweet as the event itself. What a year to remember, what a great send-off into the next adventure God has planned for these young people. Congratulations Alexander and friends!
