Place My words on your hearts. Get them deep inside you. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder. Teach them to your children.
Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street;
talk about them from the time you get up in the morning until you fall into bed at night.
Deuteronomy 11: 18-19 (The Message)
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
It was also a time to solicit prayers and the support of our church family both for Alexander and his walk with the Lord, but also for us, his parents- for wisdom, for patience, for perseverance, to hold us accountable to this most noble task (and gift) that God has so richly blessed us with.
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it.
Proverbs 22:6
Alexander’s bedtime song “Come to the Cradle” (by Michael Card) was played as the family made their way to the front of the church- Grandma and Grandpa, Great Grandma, and Nana all came for the special day. Nana had written a beautiful poem (click here to read it) that God might be glorified in this new little life. Grandpa read the scripture reading, and Pastor Benson shared some words of encouragement with us, and prayed for little Alexander, for us, for our church family.
This is such a special tribute! You have such a gift, Serena. Mom (2nd time – hope this takes)
What a beautiful little “receuil” of Baby Alexander’s five months…love the video! We’re here at a cafe in Albuquerque being transported to what looks like was a lovely baby dedication. David–awesome cupcakes! Rob says, “Can you give me the recipe?” =)
